Why do you want to become a priest? Simply put - to help others and to save souls.
Who is your favorite saint & why? St. Christopher is my Confirmation saint. I picked him for this because he is a good example that you can’t give up in a time of trial. But rather persist with the help of the Lord.
What is your favorite quote? “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” - St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
If you could talk to anyone in the course of our history (dead or alive), who would it be and why? Blessed Carlo Acutis - I would simply talk with him about his discoveries in Eucharistic miracles.
What is your favorite past time or hobby? I enjoy being outside - biking, hiking, chopping wood, yard work etc.
Do you have a favorite bible verse? Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Did anyone (priest, religious sister, friend. etc.) make an impact on your decision to enter seminary? Fr. Lucio Boccacci, LC - helped me to deepen my prayer life before high school allowing me to know God’s call for me relatively early in life. Fr. Shaun Whittington - my parish priest, he helped me to discern throughout my high school years and answered the logistical questions of entering seminary.
What is your favorite form of prayer? Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
What is your favorite title of the Blessed Mother and/or Jesus? Mary Most Pure
Any advice for someone discerning the priesthood or religious life? Pray daily, be open to God’s will for your life, know that it takes time either for you to hear God or for you to accept what God is calling you to, and trust in the Lord always.
